My name is Laurent, and if there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that we’re all a collection of the places we’ve been and the stories we’ve lived.
Echoes of Elsewhere was born from that idea: that every moment, every country, every person leaves something behind. A trace. A whisper. An echo. And somehow, those echoes are what guide us home.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve written to understand, to give meaning to the quiet spaces between what was and what’s becoming. My stories often begin where real life does: in airports, in gym mirrors, in late-night reflections about love, loss, and finding yourself again. Writing has always been my way of taking the noise of the world and turning it into something that breathes.
I’m also someone who believes in transformation, of the body, the mind, and the spirit. A few years ago, I made a promise to myself: to become strong in every sense of the word. That journey took me from over 250 pounds to the healthiest version of me now, but more than that, it taught me discipline, patience, and self-respect. The gym became my therapy, my teacher, and my reminder that consistency builds more than muscle. It builds character.
Professionally, I’ve worn many hats, from managing construction projects and accounting ledgers to running my own creative ventures. But at my core, I’ve always been a storyteller. Whether it’s through the lens of my camera, the words in my book, or the miles I travel, everything I create stems from one place: connection.
You’ll find reflections here about travel, writing, growth, and all the beautiful contradictions that make us human. Sometimes poetic, sometimes raw, always real.
Echoes of Elsewhere isn’t just a travel blog. It’s a personal map, made of stories I’ve lived, places that changed me, and the woman I continue to become.
So, welcome.
To my words, my wanderings, and the echoes that still follow me home.
— Laurent
